2011 Tribute Artist Information

COMPETITION DETAILS

We will be accepting no more than 60 competitors. This limit will allow us proper judging of four (4) songs in the qualifying round. You will perform two (2) songs for the judges Friday and another two (2) songs on Saturday. The two sets of scores will then be totaled together for your qualifying score. One of the two days will be with 'tracks' and the other day will be with the Change of Habit tribute band.  You will also perform a one hour set at a village venue assigned to you on Saturday afternoon.

Again this year, we have split the categories in each adult division. You have your choice to enter the 50's and 60's category OR the 70's category in each division. The 50's-60's category includes sport jacket & slacks, gold lame, black leather, speedway jackets, army uniform, etc. The 70's category is jumpsuits only. Your music selection should reflect these categories. Keep in mind for the competition portion of this festival you cannot switch categories. You may, however, perform your 1 hour show at your venue in any costume you wish.

The top five (5) in each category will move on to the Finals, Sunday afternoon. You will perform 2 songs with the Change of Habit Tribute Band. The following clarifications shall be used to establish which category you wish to enter:

• Professional: You make at least 60% of your living / income being an Elvis® Tribute Artist.
• Non-Pro: You make part-time income as an Elvis Tribute Artist on a hobby or amateur basis.
• Youth: You must be 12 years of age or younger. 13 years and older must enter an adult category.

 

NOTE: Anyone may enter the Professional category; however once submitted, you may not change back.

 

PRIZE STRUCTURE

OUR TOTAL PRIZE MONEY FOR 2012 WILL BE $10,000

All prize monies are payable in US funds.  The breakdown is as follows:

 

 

JUDGING
Our judges and runners are all local and have no affiliation with any Tribute Artists or any other TA competitions in a role other than judge. They will have no knowledge of their fellow judge's scores. They will not total their own score sheets. Judges are instructed to score in three (3) main categories and thirteen (13) sub-categories, making this one of the toughest, yet fairest judging systems in the country!

REQUIREMENTS TO ENTER

• ENTRY FEE: There is a $150.00 fee required to register ($125.00 if you register before March 1st), payable in US funds which must accompany the registration form. $75.00 of this fee will be returned to you after the festival, provided you perform at your assigned venue Saturday afternoon.
• BIO: We require a short 5 to 7 line bio.
• PHOTO: Two 4 X 6 or larger, color photos, are preferred. Please send one head shot and one performance photo in costume. E-mailed photos should be in JPEG image format. All photos become the property of the LakeGeorge.com Elvis Festival and may be used in promotion and marketing materials.
• A TAPE/CD/VIDEO: If you are new to our festival, we need to hear you perform. Send us a cassette, CD, video, DVD etc. with at least two songs. Tribute Artists who have performed at the LakeGeorge.com Elvis Festival prior are not required to send this, as we have your music on file.

PLEASE NOTE
The deadline for registration is April 15, 2012. It is imperative that you decide and register as soon as possible. This is not on a "first come" basis however, our committee has sole discretion of only accepting applicants who we feel represent the integrity of Elvis' memory and image. Also, because of the overwhelming interest from Elvis Tribute Artists from the USA, Canada and Europe the past three years, we will most likely be full before this date, so please register early if you plan on attending. The scheduling and logistics of a Festival this size, however, require this cut-off-date. Late registrations will not be accepted.

The registration form is on this site. If you can't read it or it isn't shown on your computer, then contact me as soon as possible and I will mail you a form. Otherwise, print out the page and mail all items (1 – 4 above) to me.

All checks and money orders should be in USD and made payable to: SHERRY MANAGEMENT, LLC. We also accept Visa and MasterCard.  Credit card charges will show on your statement from Sherry Management, LLC.
