WELCOME TRIBUTE ARTISTS:
On behalf of the Lake George Elvis® Festival, I
would like to take this opportunity to thank you for
your interest in the 2008 festival. This is our 5th
year and we expect record crowds and great media
coverage. Licensed by Elvis Presley Enterprises®,
this will continue to be the largest Elvis® Festival
in the northeastern United States and we are happy
to once again be a preliminary competition for the
Ultimate Elvis Competition in Memphis.
More than just another competition, the Lake George
Elvis® Festival brings a true sense of participation
and camaraderie where you can showcase your talent
in one of the most beautiful settings in the
Northeast. Performing on stage with the world
renowned "Change Of Habit" show band, you will be
immediately struck by the elegance of these
beautiful Adirondack Mountains meeting with the
lake, and the serenity of this small resort village
and its warm, friendly people. Simply put, it
doesn’t get any better than this.
Our theme this year is “Aloha from Lake George”,
commemorating the 35th anniversary of Elvis’ Aloha
from Hawaii concert in 1973. This Saturday evening
show will feature Shawn Klush and Donny Edwards and
will recreate this historic event in its entirety.
We are also commemorating the 40th anniversary of
Elvis’ NBC Special, now known as the “68 Comeback”
on Friday night, in a show titled “40 Year
Comeback,” featuring Dwight Icenhower, Irv Cass,
Justin Edwards and Robert Washington.
We do things differently here…
• Opening ceremony, lakeside at Shepard’s Park!
• Two BIG SHOWS, one on Friday and one on Saturday!
• Three full days of competition where you will perform
for thousands of fans resulting in the
election of the “Northeast U.S. Champion” in
professional, non-pro and youth divisions,
and qualifying one competitor to the Ultimate Elvis
Competition during Elvis Week in
Memphis!
• More prize money than any festival of its kind paid
to the top five in each category!
• A Tribute Artist classic car parade!
• Performances at venues in and around Lake George!
• Sunday morning Elvis® Gospel Service!
• Elvis® collectibles, novelties & memorabilia!
• And much, much more…
The entire festival will be (literally) on the
shores of our beautiful lake and in the ‘Forum’, our
new state of the art indoor arena. Everything this
year is within walking distance. It’s a beautiful
time of the year with daylight till 9 P.M. The
temperature is in the high 70’s. Each Tribute Artist
will receive an award, whether you place or not. We
have secured food vouchers for Saturday & Sunday for
all TA’s, hotel discounts, meals at all your venues,
FREE admissions for you AND your spouse to all
events, and much more. . . .Along with the promise
that you will be treated like a “king” your entire
visit.
